As teens in West Town attempted a carjacking, they used metal piercing bullets to scare the driver. The Chicago Sun Times says:
"A pair of teenagers have been charged with firing metal-piercing bullets at a vehicle they tied to carjack Monday in the West Town neighborhood.
The boys, both 17, stepped out of a vehicle about 12:17 a.m. in the 600 block of North Milwaukee Avenue with at least one of them displaying a handgun, according to Chicago police.
They stepped in front of a Jeep Cherokee, attempting to stop it, but the driver began to make a U-turn, police said. At that point, one of the teens fired a handgun, striking the vehicle about three times, police said. The man in the car was not hit."
